The Who What and Where of Smoking Everywhere, Smoke Everywhere, and Smoking Anywhere?
Last Updated on Sunday, 25 January 2009 08:34 Written by leaford Sunday, 25 January 2009 08:34
There have been an outrageous amount of complaints about a vendor using the name Smoking Everywhere both online and in kiosks at the mall. Bad products, worse service, no refunds, refused exchanges, sometimes never even getting shipped. Obviously, we need to know who they are and avoid them, and let others know to avoid them, too. But there are actually two OTHER companies using similar names, and it seems that consumers are getting them confused with each other. One of them is actually a good company and is frequently being unfairly smeared by association with Smoking Everywhere.
So, I’ve looked into getting it sorted out, and here’s what I’ve found.
First off, there’s the “vile culprit”, Smoking Everywhere, LLC. They describe themselves as “a Florida based company pioneering in electronic smoking products,” who have “both Resellers and Store Locations in Major Malls around the country.”
Their websites are www.smokingeverywhere.com and www.smoking-everywhere.com. They have Super-minis (the KR808 according to Parked), Classic Penstyles, E-Cigars, and an E-Pipe.
They have been featured on The Bob Rivers Show and on local news segments. The video clip of the local news show is a redirect site which links to a deeply discounted outlet of some sort.
Those are all the sites I was able to find of theirs, but if anyone knows of others, please e-mail me at the address at the bottom of the article.
Smoking Everywhere is the source of the complaints. Their main websites have outrageously expensive e-cigarettes, and make the usual exaggerated claims about cartridge and battery life. They claim to offer a warranty, but they state their no returns policy explicitly: “*Please note that as per our terms and conditions, we cannot accept returns on unwanted items once used.”
Next, there’s Smoke Anywhere, Inc., the owners of Smoke 51. Also based in Florida, they also have “specialty retail locations, including kiosks and smoke shops in malls.” Besides www.smoke51.com, they have the websites www.smokeeverywhere.com and www.smokeverywhere.com. There’s also a subsidiary company, www.greensmoke.com/, which also has the address www.thevaporcigs.com.
They don’t appear to be the source of the complaints, but becuase Smoke Everywhere and Smoking Everywhere are such somilar names, they get dragged into it by mistake quite frequently.
They are the exclusive US distributer of the Loong Totem v9, an exclusive arrangement they guard zalously. They have a reputation for bad forum behaviour, and some pretty deceptive statements on their website about other designs of e-cigarettes. As I say, they do not seem to be the major source of the complaints, although some people, like myself, aren’t happy with the quality of their batteries.
It is suspicious, though, that they are both located in Florida, both have mall kiosks, and both have similar web addresses, and a similar strategy of multiple similar websites. I do wonder if there is a more direct connection between them, but as far as I know, they are unrelated companies.
Lastly, there’s Smoking Anywhere, a Flanders, New Jersey company that resells the Njoy Rn4072 Penstyle, the Njoy E-Cigar, and the Njoy Npro Super-Mini, which I believe is a DSE-103 or similar. Their web address is www.smokinganywhere.com. They seem innocent of the mess, except for sharing the same name as Smoke 51’s parent company. However, they aren’t completely innocent; they make the usual exaggerated claims about cartridge and battery life, and claim to be FAA and TSA approved without any support for their claim.
I still want a bit more detail.
First, I can’t find a list of store or kiosk locations for either one. I’d like to start compiling one.
Second, These were all the web addresses I could find in a quick search, but I’d like to know if anyone else knows any others.
So, if anyone who can give me a store or kiosk location, or who knows of any additional web addresses, could please send that to: smoking-every-any-whatever@e-smoker-forever.com, I’d appreciate it.
And it might be useful to compile a list of complaints.
There’s more than one thread on the forums for complaints about them, I know, but those get unwieldy with all the comments about the complaints, and comments about the comments, and so on.
So, the comment section of this thread will be dedicated to complaints about Smoking Everywhere, LLC. IF you have a complaint about them, whether online or in the mall, please post your experience below.
[EDITED TO ADD:]
I just found out yesterday from ECF member Providence that Smoking Everywhere recently bought out Njoy, explaining the shocking decline of Njoy’s once legendary customer service.
A letter from Smoke Everywhere Distributer Frank Simotics, shared by Providence via www.e-cigarette-forum.com:
“Smoking Everywhere just bought out the second largest company in the US – Njoy.
…
Sincerely,
Frank Simotics”
The original is here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/5832-smokingeverywhere-bs-email-conversation.html
ECF forum member Lacey Underhill informed me via e-mail that, “GreenCig, Smoke51 and Smokeeverywhere are all hosted on the same servers. Greencig is also www.thevaporcig.com (possibly a reseller… I looked a bit more but again)
The other two, www.smokingeverywhere.com and www.smoking-everywhere.com, I find interesting that the same “person” Elicko Eli, appears to own them and hosts them on two different servers. He does a lot of press releases! Also note that in early press releases he went by the name Elicko Taieb.
When you look at the IP addresses… Greencig, Smoke51 and Smokeeverywhere are coming out of Dallas servers and smokingeverywhere is coming out of New York and Smoking-everywhere is coming out of Phoenix. (Which would be right since he is not hosting his sites on the same server).”
Which would seem to support that they are seperate entities, but is not conclusive.
I also have confirmed reports that some Smoking Everywhere Kiosks do indeed sell both Smoking Everywhere E-Cigarettes, AND Smoke 51 brand Loong Totem units. This could suggest a connection, but the mall kiosks are a franchised seperatly by both companies, so It’s likely just that some individual owners own both franchises.
The information gathering will continue, though, and if you have any information to add, please e-mail your tips to: smoking-every-any-whatever@e-smoker-forever.com.
