Maybe if it goes viral someone on daytime television will listen and we’ll get an e-cig segment with someone who knows a bit about e-cigs, for a change.
Every vaper should watch this video and pass it on…

FOX WLUK: Smoking ban has e-cigs lighting up Smokers look for alternatives

A fairly good, even handed story from a Wisconsin Fox affiliate, WLUK.
Smoking ban has e-cigs lighting up
Smokers look for alternatives
Reporter: Becky DeVries
BROWN COUNTY – Wisconsin is just a few weeks away from smoke-free workplaces, but you may see people with a different kind of cigarette in their mouths. While some like the alternative to traditional cigarettes, many agree they are not healthy.
Interesting was the mention of Tavern League selling them at their bar. Nothing new, but it is something I like to see. The more out in the public and off the internet they are, the better for us all. Now if only they had gone with Vapor4Life’s Original Vapor King.
Be sure to read the comments. Some good responses there.
See what we’re missing?

THe American Cancer Society just releases this Tax Map, showing the tobacco tax rates in all 50 states:

Click the link to see the figures.
Topping the list with the most expensive tax is Rhode Island at $3.45. Missouri is the lowest at .17. New York State is one of the highest at $2.75.
Aren’t you glad you don’t have to pay tobacco taxes for e-cigs? Well, not yet, anyway.

Nice V4L testimonial from Lasttango

Lasttango, at ECF, posted a nice testimonial on our testimonial board:
V4L got me off of a 19 year cigarette smoking addiction… sure, now I am addicted to e-cigs, but I can breathe, I smell better and hopefully, I will live longer.
V4l because: there service is great… variety is vast and their products work well.
I think a lot of the folks that are not successful with that first e-cig experience failed because they didn’t have a strong and supportive vendor. V4L truly cares… they want more than your money… they really do want you to be successful.
I was never hassled when I wanted to make a return… the customer always comes first with them…
Most importantly, there is a large community of people who are passionate about V4L and vaping. These are happy people. Arms open… and knowledgeable.
Now, own 3 mods, ten billion ML’s of juice… 50 cartomizers, 20 atomizers and so many other goodies and toys… if I had to do it all over again knowing what I know now… I would still have gone with V4L as my first experience.
When you are making the transition from real cigs to e-cigs, the last thing you need is an excuse to light up a real one… and V4L never gave me that excuse… their product is a top notch product… their service is great… the freebies they sent exposed me to new possibilities and the people I met were supportive.
If you are thinking of making the switch, let V4L be your first guide. You won’t be sorry…
Thanks, Lasttango, and you’re absolutely right, we want you to succeed more than anything else.

How do you clean cartomizers?
Last Updated on Tuesday, 15 June 2010 03:31 Written by leaford Tuesday, 15 June 2010 03:31
Personally, I don’t clean. I mean I don’t clean anything. I am the biggest slob you’ll ever meet. So, I’m not the best one to talk about cleaning cartos.
Instead, I’ll just point you to a great video made by ECF member Nilius:
AMA comes out against e-cigs.

In a press release distributed Monday, the American Medical Association said that e-cigarettes should be “classified as drug delivery devices, subject to the same FDA regulations as all other drug delivery devices. ”
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/ama-electronic-cigarettes-are-drug-delivery-devices-and-should-be-subject-to-fda-regulations-96337279.html
CHICAGO, June 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — New policy adopted today by the American Medical Association (AMA) recommends that electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) be classified as drug delivery devices, subject to the same FDA regulations as all other drug delivery devices. Additional policy adopted supports prohibiting the sale of e-cigarettes that are not FDA approved.
“Very little data exists on the safety of e-cigarettes, and the FDA has warned that they are potentially addicting and contain harmful toxins,” said AMA Board Member Edward L. Langston, M.D. “Our new policies can help ensure that e-cigarettes are properly classified and regulated.”
E-cigarettes are smokeless devices that deliver nicotine to the user. They consist of three integrated parts: the nicotine cartridge, the vaporizer and a lithium ion battery. The battery powers the cartridge and releases the nicotine by heating, rather than burning like a conventional cigarettes. They are available in fruit and candy flavors. Little independent research has been conducted into their ingredients and health impacts, but they are commercially promoted by vendors as a safe alternative to cigarettes.
“Because e-cigarettes have not been thoroughly tested, one cannot conclude that they are less harmful or less dangerous than conventional cigarettes,” said Dr. Langston. “The fact that they come in fruit and candy flavors gives them the potential to entice new nicotine users, especially teens.”
The AMA’s new policy is a result of a report looking at the current regulations and potential health impacts of e-cigarettes discussed this week at the AMA Annual Meeting in Chicago.
Today’s Chinglish Classic: E Cig Liquid: A champion, well before time

This press release had me dying laughing. It was released by Altsmoke. Do they even read these things?
Our habits are literally no different to the person who sits up there in Haven. We are evolving everyday and a process in continuation. Angel hands, who have magnificently carved us from head to toe, left an element of doubt the way we act and respond under particular circumstances. We smoke a cigarette nowadays and there is no shadow of smoke included. E-Cigs have brought reality a step closer to future and we are about to enter the doors of. Tobacco has also been shown the backdoor. E Cig simply claims that things which are no required are not going to be tolerated anymore. We are heavenly employees of intelligent universe and follow orders from there.
E Cigs never took it seriously the concept of cigarette smoking and the way people drink and inhale other forms. E-Cigs ever knew it persuasively that audience was not ready to accept it honorably so it thought of giving them more reason by taking an untimely entry into the world of business. It is an impressive business strategy to first play into the hands of your competition, and the good point is that they (or competitors) would deploy all their energy in promoting you and your products. Our turn comes afterwards and opportunity begins when least expectations were asked of. To under promise and deliver more- is the work policy of few and less. E-Cig is not a temporary means to overcome peculiar habits. It is a culture, behavior and strongful concept to show the world about the things that you care for and practice of. For ages, we were concerned about first beating others and then trying to run the race for number one product.
E-Cig is never going to run or to make it faster because there was never a day in the records of history where only one product was sold throughout the country across all the stores. People make surprisingly astonishing choices when they go out in the market to buy something as compared to what they see in the advertisements.
E Cig has got a lithium-ion charged battery, an atomizer and cartridges. Vaporizing method of inhaling nicotine is what all we are talking about. For one more time, there is no availability of smoke and tobacco in the electronic version of cigarette. Few key points are such that can ask for specific amounts of nicotine to be used every time they smoke. Different flavors have been made available in the market.
Almost all the prime components have got their substitutes or replacements present. Quite interestingly and with a bit of honesty too, there is more to E-Cigs than what few of us thought about it. Let daylight shine and there be sun one every bright head.
They’re shooting LASERS at themselves to stop smoking?!?!?!
Last Updated on Monday, 14 June 2010 03:46 Written by leaford Monday, 14 June 2010 03:46
I’m always browsing the web for anything e-cig related, and along the way I usually find one or two press releases or bog posts written in the worst broken english you’ve ever seen. They always make me laugh. When you read something like, “E-Cig is never going to run or to make it faster because there was never a day in the records of history where only one product was sold throughout the country across all the stores,” you just have to laugh.
Well, today’s Chinglish chuckler started out, “Are you frustrated with your bad smoking habit? You will do absolutely anything to get the quit smoking guaranteed result so that you can prolong your life even longer.” So, I settled in for a good read. It continued with, “Only with high determination in your heart can make you quit smoking guaranteed.” I knew I was on to a winner here.
But then it continued with, “A very successful rate method that will you help get the quit smoking guaranteed result is by using a laser therapy,” and suddenly I wasn’t interested in the broken english anymore. Laser therapy? For smoking? What the hell do they laser?
So, I googled it, and sure enough, they have Stop Smoking Laser Therapy!
Apparently, this is based on acupuncture. Low level lasers are applied to acupuncture points supposedly linked to addiction. The laser is said to trigger the release of endorphins, which in turn are supposed to relieve the cravings for nicotine. Clients pay around $400 for a half hour session, and some people say they they were completely “cured” after as little as one session.
Personally, I am a die-hard skeptic. Acupuncture has never been shown to be effective for anything, let alone quitting smoking, and adding lasers, bells, or whistles doesn’t help any. And indeed, there is no evidence at all for laser quit smoking therapy. The one group in the US which is supposed to be doing clinical trials, Freedom Laser Therapy, isn’t even collecting data!
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/06/22/health/main1743339.shtml
FDA regulations do allow the therapy to be used in investigational clinical trials or studies — exactly what Freedom Laser Therapy said it is carrying out at its two locations, in Santa Monica, Calif., and Royal Oak, Mich., president Craig Nabat said.
The company charged thousands of smokers to participate in the trials so far but has not collected data on whether the program successfully helped them quit, said Nabat, who wants to open franchises nationwide.
“We are not documenting exactly how many people are coming through — how successful they are,” said Nabat, adding that client referrals vouch for the program’s effectiveness.
Even the American Cancer Society and American Lung Association reject Laser Therapy as not supported by scientific evidence.
So, don’t waste your money. $400 for a half hour session will buy a lot of cartomizers instead!
